Tip #29 DECLARE Declarations are powerful – positive or negative!

Have you ever stood at bat, ready to hit? Your thoughts may be, “I hope I don’t strike out,” or “I’ll probably mess up again.” Remember, a strong declaration (or self-statement) transforms your attitudes and expectations in life, either positively or negatively! Positive declarations are powerful to counter negative self-beliefs or negative self-talk.

Your declaration is what moves you. It could be something like: “I am taking care of myself, physically and mentally,” or “I am grateful for all support from my family, teammates and coaches.”

Sport-specific declarations might include: “I am a strong batter,” “I am quick and fast,” or “I am steady and strong as I perform.” Give yourself a gift… acknowledge who you are and reinforce this with positive declarations.
