It sounds simple, but how often do you notice your shoulders feel tight and scrunched, or your breathing seems fast and shallow? The more you consciously practice to relax, breathe and build awareness, the more automatic these skills become—even in a lastminute, pressured situation. Stress and anxiety can adversely affect performance across all levels of athletic ability and types of sports. Relaxing is one of the key skills you need to overcome the stress and anxiety you may experience when trying to improve your sports performance. Sounds easy to do, until the competition starts!
