Dr. Lynn Hellerstein of Vision Beyond Sight is back with a solo show to update you all about her life months after her recent retirement. She talks about letting go of attachments in her career and even the roles in her family, and embracing these changes with courage, community, love and trust in the divine. She intends to continue in bringing awareness to the power of vision, whether the physical, emotional or spiritual kind. As she undergoes her recertification as a trainor for RIM (Regenerating Images in Memory), she discusses doing RIM personal work that made her realize how overprotectiveness ran in her family, and that it’s more important to be honest, authentic and emotionally healthy especially for her daughters and grandchildren. She also touches on the value of being of service in the community and being grounded in spirituality. Lastly, she invites us all to reflect on what we want to create for our lives by answering a few, simple questions that will allow us to look at ourselves through a fresh, new lens. Remember that retirement is not the end but the beginning of a new chapter.

“What stories have you been telling yourself, or rules that you have created that may not be true, or may even be disempowering? Some of these stories could be about, like, I’m not good enough, or I have to be perfect, or nobody likes me, or it goes on and on. Look at those stories. Are they really true? What would it feel like if you actually didn’t listen to some of those stories? Or you broke the rules of how you live your life? How would that feel?” – Dr. Lynn Hellerstein
