Brain Injury Conference- Truly Inspirational

BIAC (Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado) held their 29th Annual meeting in the Denver Area. This group includes physicians, therapists and survivors. Many of these survivors shared their stories of near-death experiences. They were grateful to the medical community for saving their lives.  However, re-creating their lives after brain injury was elusive for many.

I’m honored to have been asked to present a workshop.  Another wake-up call about how many people still don’t understand the vision-brain connection.   We need to continue spreading the word of the power of vision rehabilitation therapy with the brain injured population.

Spending a day with this inspirational community made me re-affirm my belief in the power of love and community.  Many of these survivors and family of survivors expressed their thank yous and gratitude for the opportunity to share, be heard and find resources.

A humbling day, to say the least.
